Prepare for your own Olympics with hypnotherapy

by Marygrace Anderson

What a perfect time to start your own personal Olympics, whether it be for a marathon, improve your golf game, increase your personal goals, or start a new sport. Hypnotherapy is perfect for helping athletes of all levels, increase your motivation and focus. With the upcoming Olympics coming to London it should inspire your own new challenges to overcome and goals to achieve. This can be in sport or your daily exercise routine.

Summer is the perfect time to get fit. There are so many inspirational places, people, accessories and activities to get you moving and motivated. There are so many good centres to join now, plus you can find virtually every sports group on the web offering free trials or group events. For example, you can join a runners group which meet at a specific time and place daily, weekly or monthly and all you have to do is show up with the right equipment necessary. You can spend as little or as much as you want on equipment but the key is to set some goals and get started.

I had a 44 year old woman who wanted to loose weight and get fit but didn’t have a focus. She couldn’t tell me why besides, “she wanted to look better in her clothes”. You have to be specific in what you want to achieve and then make it clear in your mind and body. Once you have a clear focus you can find more motivational steps to get there and plan out a reasonable, achievable and fun way to get to the finish line. There are lots of fun and creative ways to make weight loss fun and using hypnotherapy to reinforce your commitment. Simply put, “if you are going to do something, do it right or not at all”.

Another 35 year old male wanted help on his boxing skills. He was great to work with because he knew what he wanted from the session. He didn’t care if he won or not, but his focus was moving faster, lighter and throwing harder punches while maintaining his stamina. We did this through visualising, finding his power place, and reinforcing his belief he was capable of going all the rounds plus more. And he did win the fight he was training for, which made it even sweeter.

So take action now, and go for the gold!
