Smoking while pregnant

I thought the article in Metro on 24th March by Tom Wilkinson was amazing. You don't need any more motivation than to watch the clip.

The harmful effects of smoking during pregnancy on unborn babies may be seen in tiny movements on their faces using 4D ultrasound scans, new research has found. Pregnant women have long been urged to give up cigarettes because they heighten the risk of premature birth, respiratory problems and even cot death.

Smoking cessation for 2014 – e-cigarettes?

Electronic cigarettes... really?!  Why?  If you are going to stop, stop.  It's like choosing low fat cookies; they don’t really exist.  It is an illusion to think changing to e-cigarettes are going to really help you stop.  I don't know anyone who has tried them and not gone back to the real thing.

The reason you wanted to try to stop should be your focus to help you quit for life.  If you focus on what you will gain in the end, not what you "think" you will lose from them, it will make it easier.  At the end of day, what you think was great about smoking was just an illusion you created in your mind.

It does not relax you, makes you look cool or anything else. It is killing you as the pack says. Just STOP!

Group and corporate training

Employers and employees are now conscious of the importance of being pro-active and maintaining the health of their staff. Group sessions are a cost-effective way of helping both parties achieve this goal. We know the most common condition is stress; causing a wide variety of issues. Stress can lead to a whole range of mental and physical problems if not treated. We can help reduce stress with various relaxation and empowering (self-motivation) techniques, which can be done during, and repeated after, the session at the person’s will.

No matter the size of the company, the employee is still the most valuable asset. There are budgets for employee training and welfare programmes, which are not covered by insurance. This includes assistance with smoking cessation, stress management, emotional conditions, public speaking, goal setting, motivation and team building.

The benefits of group sessions

Group sessions are cost effective. Fees can be negotiated depending on number attending (minimum 5 to 500 persons).

Group sessions are flexible. They can be held at your premises during or after working hours.

Group sessions are still “personalized” and the result will be based on the person’s individual empowering life experiences of success. It is a relaxing yet energizing experience.

Group sessions are team building. Everyone is in the same situation and can enjoy the experience as if they are getting a one-on-one session.

Stop smoking on 1st October NHS campaign

On the 1st October the NHS is promoting a smoke-free campaign encouraging smokers in England to stop smoking for 28 days during October.  I completely support it and will give everyone, during the month of October, £25.00 off my normal fee and donate it to Cancer UK.

Take the 28 day challenge but make it a life long change.  You will feel so much better for doing it.  The best way to commit is to think of all the things you hate about smoking and then list all of the things you will gain from stopping.  You can start November feeling healthier, happier and proud.

Hypnotherapy and Smoking Cessation

by Marygrace Anderson

Some stats:

Please love stats, but I personally find them boring. However, for those of you who want them please see below and enjoy. I enjoy the facts, like smoking kills you and those around you. I enjoy knowing people who think £250.00 to stop smoking for a longer life, spend £6.00 - £7.00 on a packet of cigarettes (almost £80.00 a month). Talk about burning away your money and health. I was a smoker and quit with hypnotherapy. When you are ready, I’ll be waiting to hear from you.

Good health.

What is hypnotherapy?

By Marygrace Anderson

Hypnotherapy is a treatment that uses hypnosis to alter the way you feel or change aspects of your life that need improving.

What is hypnosis?

Hypnosis is a perfectly natural condition, which we experience every day of our lives, like day dreaming. We drift in and out of a hypnotic state all day long without being aware of it. Under hypnosis, we are capable of making amazing changes to our thinking patterns and unlocking unlimited potential to improve and transform our lives.

All hypnosis is self-hypnosis, meaning that you are in control at all times. A hypnotherapist guides and empowers the client throughout the hypnotic process. This is a focused state of relaxation, in which the subconscious mind can achieve incredible transformations for beneficial purposes.

The incredible commitment generated between hypnotherapist and client working together creates positive and therapeutic changes which can alter a person's life permanently. We focus on the solution, not the problem.

Who can be hypnotised?

Virtually everyone can be hypnotised. If you have the desire to make a change, then you will allow yourself to be guided into the wonderful and relaxing trance state. You cannot be hypnotised against your will. Children of all ages are welcome.

Is hypnosis safe?

Hypnotherapy is 100% safe. There are no side-effects and you are always in control.

What happens during the session?

We discuss what you want to improve or change. Then we agree the goals and desired outcome you want to accomplish. Next, we work together with various techniques and hypnosis to achieve those results, all in a tranquil, calming and relaxing environment.

How many sessions will I need and what are the fees?

It depends on what you need assistance with changing. Giving up smoking or eliminating a phobia are usually resolved in one session, while the majority of cases are treated in four sessions or less. The aim is to help you in the minimum number of sessions possible, so your motivation and desire to change will play a key role. You should achieve the results quickly and pleasantly. We will review your progress together after each session.

Fees are £145.00 for the first session (lasting 75 minutes) and reviewed thereafter if more sessions are required. Counselling and life coaching fees are based in the number of sessions agreed. Smoking cessation is £200.00, with 20% donated of this total donated to charity.

How can hypnotherapy help you?

Hypnotherapy can be effective in a number of ways. It can help you to increase confidence and self-esteem; improve motivation; manage your weight; quit smoking; manage stress and eliminate anxiety; eliminate phobias and panic attacks; stop unwanted habits and alleviate sleeping disorders.
