MG Hypnosis - Let Anxiety Go

One of the reasons I like working with children is they have no hard-set predisposition of failure.  That innocence and trust that I will be able to help them always amazes me.

BUT I always explain to them, and this is key, that I am not doing it…they are.  Adults would benefit from going back to that innocence.  Have faith.

You already have overcome tough times before, which you now take for granted, and you can use the same strengths to get though anything.  You just have to simply believe in yourself and change your attitude towards anxiety!

Remember, in using hypnotherapy, you are the one making the changes, I simply guide you into finding your own solution to your problem.  And a lot of time, that is all it takes.  Spending time to find it.  Really, whatever is causing you anxiety, this is your chance to change it.  Tell it goodbye. Get mad and say “no more”.

Let’s get going.

MG Hypnosis - Memories of Relaxation

Just a quick video to remind you of memories where you felt very relaxed.  A place or an activity that you found relaxing and just taking a moment to reconnect with that feeling.  No one wanting or needing anything from you for just 10 minutes, while you just recall a relaxing time in your life.

This is just a quick “me” moment to stop and reflect.  Enjoy!

MG Hypnosis - Bore U 2 Sleep - Walking

***DO NOT LISTEN TO THIS WHILE OPERATING A MOVING VEHICLE OR WHERE YOUR FULL ATTENTION IS REQUIRED FOR SAFETY*** Today I am honoured to “Bore you to Sleep” with a story about going on a walk. Just talking about walking. It’s a mindless adventure of observations. My last “bore you to sleep” video was set in Milwaukee. Today my walk is along the Thames in London. I will tell you about my journey, the views, the inspiring thoughts that enter my mind and other random contemplations that pop into my head. The thoughts that come from nowhere, but do nevertheless. I hope you enjoy being “bored to sleep” walking with me.

Today I am honoured to “Bore you to Sleep” with a story about how we would spend a Summer’s day as a child.  (This is a good one, as I almost fell asleep making it).

A whole long carefree day in of the life of a 12-year old during a Summer’s day in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.  Nothing much to do, except have an adventure.

I am honoured to guide you through this session.

MG Hypnosis - Bore you to Sleep with Simply Breathing

***DO NOT LISTEN TO THIS WHILE OPERATING A MOVING VEHICLE OR
WHERE YOUR FULL ATTENTION IS REQUIRED FOR SAFETY***

Today I “bore you to sleep” with simple breathing.  You can follow my count for breathing in and out, but if you prefer to just listen without counting and holding the breath, that is perfectly fine.  All breathing, as you are falling asleep sends a signal to your muscles to relax and rest.

So, you can listen to me, but you don’t really have to concentrate on my words.  Say “goodnight Gracie”.

I let the music play on for a minute after I finish – sweet dreams.

MG Hypnosis - Bore you to Sleep - 3 Places

Honoured to be asked for more sleep videos. To be able to offer help others with #sleep during #lockdown makes me feel great. Wishing you sweet dreams.

By popular demand – another “bore you to sleep” story about 3 places I want to describe for you. Again, there is no point to the story except to help bore you to sleep and distract your mind away from thoughts keeping you awake. So, you can listen to me, but you don’t really have to concentrate on my words. Say “goodnight Gracie”. The transition between the start of the clip and session isn't smooth, but hay, I'm still learning. : ) I let the music play on for a minute after I finish – sweet dream. ***DO NOT LISTEN TO THIS WHILE OPERATING A MOVING VEHICLE OR WHERE YOUR FULL ATTENTION IS REQUIRED FOR SAFETY*** Please “like” this video if you think others will find it helpful.

Good night, sleep well, and sweet dreams…

I let the music play on for a few minutes after I finish for you to drift off to sleep…

MG Hypnosis - Guided Sleep - Journey of Self Discovery

***DO NOT LISTEN TO THIS WHILE OPERATING A MOVING VEHICLE OR
WHERE YOUR FULL ATTENTION IS REQUIRED FOR SAFETY***

Today I am “boring you to sleep” with a Journey of Self-discover.  It is something you can listen to whilst falling asleep WITHOUT really having to listen to the story.  It’s a nice journey, but if you fall asleep, your subconscious mind will still be listening.  It’s designed just to help you fall asleep without worrying about the things that are keeping you awake.

((You can also use this recording for reflection on self-awareness))

Enjoy, sweet dreams, sleep well….

I let the music play on for a few minutes after I finish for you to drift into sleep with!V

The Science of Laughter

I read The Science of Laughter from Time Magazine’s September issue.  It was really interesting to learn that the main reason we laugh is social communication.

It is also an unconscious behavior (not under our control at all), which is why we have all had “inappropriate” times of cracking up.  Mine usually happens in church.

The really amazing thing about laughing is that it is, like drinking water, good for us.  Not only mentally making us feel good, but also physically we benefit.  That is why there are more and more studies being done in universities and hospitals about using laughter for better health.   It helps in boosting our immune function, pain tolerance, cardiovascular health and memory.  We know it reduces stress and help with depression.

So I suggest you spend 1-2 hours over the weekend to watch your favorite comedy! Happy Friday!

MY 6 WEEK DETOX DIARY AND SELF-HYPNOSIS – FOR YOUR BENEFIT (UPDATED WEEKLY – WEEK 4)

MY 6 WEEK DETOX DIARY AND SELF-HYPNOSIS – FOR YOUR BENEFIT (UPDATED WEEKLY – WEEK 4)

Really loving it now, as I am seeing and feeling it more in my body.  I am still not pushing my yoga moves to extremes, (as I couldn’t bare the thought of a set back at this point) but still working up a sweat.  It is the same with running – not pushing myself to run faster or longer, if I don’t feel good in my body.  I am at least making sure it is a minimum of  a 20 minute jog.

Still enjoying the detox tea and finding more and more that I don’t miss a lot of things I was in the habit of doing daily, like drinking a Starbucks Instant Latte – yuck.  It would taste like drinking 10 cubes of sugar diluted with milk.

I am changing colours on my calendar to keep it interesting and pretty, and enjoying placing my round “stars” for days I run or do additional yoga.  I am finding that breaking up my day with a run, walk or yoga is helping my shoulder loosen up when I have been typing too long.

Tips for this week for staying on track.

1. JDI – At this point I really don’t even think of not getting up first thing to do my yoga.  If I need to get up really early, I have booked yoga in my diary for when I get back.  As mentioned, I really like Yoga with Adrian (You Tube), and she has a 30 day with Adrian yoga program – and its free, so tomorrow start with her on day one!   I did go to a drop in yoga sessions to make sure I am doing the moves right.   It was helpful and I will go again before next week.

2.  I can definitely notice that starting the day with exercise does lend itself to eating a healthier diet in general.  I wasn’t terrible, but I think more about what would be a balanced meal vs. same old, same old.  Having a lot more fruit and summer makes it easier to keep the variety interesting.

3.  Thankful for encouragement from friends and family.  I will try to start going on the weekend with a neighbour who is at my level of running, and the distraction of talking with someone will keep me going.  We will motivate each other to keep going.

4.  Listing the benefits after 4 weeks.  100% more energy, sleeping better, eating better, clothes fitting easier, body feels firmer, mind is sharper and more focused, being more productive in business and personal goals, and lastly but most importantly, I am happier in general.  This is no longer a 6 week detox, it is already become a life style detox.

5.  Final point.  When I do self hypnosis before bed or after yoga, I keep a picture in my head on how I want to feel and look after the 6 weeks.  I don’t do a count down, meaning that on week one I pictured myself in 6 weeks time, on week two, I again picture myself in 6 weeks time (not 5).  I keep projecting 6 weeks out so I keep the momentum in my head of an ongoing goal.   Lost 2 more pounds since last week!!!

Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions.

See you next week and enjoy your week. Marygrace

Stay calm people – A stress free Christmas tip!

Imagine if you could go though a day in slow motion.  Life would be so much calmer.  You wouldn’t have that sense of rushing to get everything done before the 25th December.  You will also have more patience with others.

Even on Christmas Eve and day, when relatives can be hard to handle, pause before you speak so you don’t say anything you will regret later.

So when you get that feeling of being stressed out, just think “go slow”, and it will go away and you will find that everything will get done – but without the anxiety.

Changing careers

Knowledge is power!  I will never forget my dad first telling me that when I called him from my job in Washington.  I kept getting asked to do things that were not part of my role.  My dad so simply informed me that the more I learn, the more valuable I become to myself, and the company.  So, from that day forward I thrived at learning new skills.

However, you also need to keep a balance in life so if you have too much work or you are working too many hours, get the balance back.  You need to be able to stand up for yourself and work something out with your manager.  When you are overworked or too tired, you can’t do your job properly or happily.  Happiness is a key to loving your work.

One of the key things I want to know when someone comes to see me is do they like their jobs.  I would say that more than half want to do something else.  An excellent resource for exploring what you might want to do is a book called “Working 5 to 9” by Emma Jones.  This book is loaded with cleaver resources to help you turn your real interests or even hobbies into careers.  So begin exploring your talents and potential today and love learning.
