Thank You

 Thank You!

I wrote a thank you card to my dentist & his assistant yesterday after having a tooth pulled for the first time. I did it because they made me feel so at ease and when he was injecting the Novocain, there was a moment I tensed up due to the sharpness of the injection into the gum. His assistant held my hand without asking and it make a world of difference. I felt supported and reassured and calm. So unexpected and I was so thankful.

In today’s fast-paced world, taking the time to write a thank-you note or a thinking-of-you note can make a significant impact. While text messages and emails have become the standard forms of communication, a handwritten note carries a personal touch that feels more meaningful and thoughtful. Whether you are expressing gratitude for a gift, kindness, or simply letting someone know they are on your mind, a heartfelt note can brighten someone’s day and strengthen your relationship.

Writing a thank-you note is one of the simplest yet most powerful ways to express gratitude. It acknowledges the time, effort, or generosity of another person and shows them that their kindness did not go unnoticed. Studies have shown that expressing gratitude not only benefits the recipient but also enhances the well-being of the sender. Taking a few moments to reflect on what you are thankful for can improve your mood and create a sense of connection.

When crafting a thank-you note, it’s important to be specific. Instead of a generic “thank you for the gift,” mention what the gift was and why it was meaningful to you. For example, “Thank you so much for the beautiful journal. I’ve already started using it, and it has made my daily reflections so much more enjoyable.” Personalizing your note adds sincerity and makes the recipient feel truly appreciated.

Just as a thank-you note can express appreciation, a thinking-of-you note can offer comfort and encouragement. Life can be stressful, and everyone experiences moments of loneliness, sadness, or uncertainty. A simple note letting someone know they are in your thoughts can provide much-needed reassurance.

Thinking-of-you notes are especially meaningful when sent without a specific occasion. A spontaneous note, whether it’s a handwritten card, a short letter, or even a small doodle, can remind someone that they are valued. For instance, “I was thinking about you today and just wanted to check in. I hope you’re doing well!” This small gesture can have a lasting impact, especially for someone going through a difficult time.

In the digital age, handwriting a note is a rare and cherished practice. While typing a message is convenient, a handwritten note feels more personal and intentional. It shows that you took the time to sit down, gather your thoughts, and craft something unique for the recipient. Handwriting also engages the brain differently, allowing for a deeper connection with your emotions and intentions.

Incorporating note-writing into your routine can bring joy to both you and those around you. Keeping a set of stationery or blank cards on hand makes it easier to send notes whenever inspiration strikes. Whether you set aside time once a week or write spontaneously, developing the habit of sending handwritten messages can strengthen relationships and spread positivity.

Ultimately, a thank-you note or thinking-of-you note is a small act of kindness that can make a big difference. Taking a few minutes to express gratitude or offer support can uplift someone’s spirits and create lasting connections.

***DO NOT LISTEN TO THIS WHILE OPERATING A MOVING VEHICLE OR

WHERE YOUR FULL ATTENTION IS REQUIRED FOR SAFETY***

Today I am honoured to “Bore you to Sleep” with a story about how we would spend a Summer’s day as a child.  (This is a good one, as I almost fell asleep making it).

A whole long carefree day in of the life of a 12-year old during a Summer’s day in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.  Nothing much to do, except have an adventure.

I am honoured to guide you through this session.

MG Hypnosis - Bore you to Sleep with Simply Breathing

***DO NOT LISTEN TO THIS WHILE OPERATING A MOVING VEHICLE OR
WHERE YOUR FULL ATTENTION IS REQUIRED FOR SAFETY***

Today I “bore you to sleep” with simple breathing.  You can follow my count for breathing in and out, but if you prefer to just listen without counting and holding the breath, that is perfectly fine.  All breathing, as you are falling asleep sends a signal to your muscles to relax and rest.

So, you can listen to me, but you don’t really have to concentrate on my words.  Say “goodnight Gracie”.

I let the music play on for a minute after I finish – sweet dreams.

Again, there is no point to the story except to help bore you to sleep and distract your mind away from thoughts keeping you awake. So, you can listen to me, but you don’t really have to concentrate on my words. Say “goodnight Gracie”. The transition between the start of the clip and session isn't smooth, but hay, I'm still learning. : ) I let the music play on for a minute after I finish – sweet dream. ***DO NOT LISTEN TO THIS WHILE OPERATING A MOVING VEHICLE OR WHERE YOUR FULL ATTENTION IS REQUIRED FOR SAFETY*** Please “like” this video if you think others will find it helpful.

MG Hypnosis - Getting Rid of Negative Thoughts

***DO NOT LISTEN TO THIS WHILE OPERATING A MOVING VEHICLE OR WHERE YOUR FULL ATTENTION IS REQUIRED FOR SAFETY***

Getting rid of negative thoughts can be hard, but not impossible.  Like everything, the more you focus on something, the more you think about it.  So today I’d like to share with you a technique of getting rid of negative thoughts.  It’s therapeutic, AND you can also use it at end of the day to clear your mind to help you to sleep.

Remember that you have a choice in what you want to focus your energy and thoughts on.  My advice - choose the good stuff, the positive stuff, the joyful stuff, the happy stuff, the inspiring stuff, the “it’s going to make my day wonderful and it will make me smile” stuff.

Be well, happy and positive.

MG Hypnosis - Help with Isolation

Isolation isn’t a new experience for many people.  It can happen for various reasons and all ages.  Lockdown has actually been a blessing in a strange way to make people aware of this problem.  It’s horrible to think there are people who are suffering alone because other people simply cannot see the real situation.

Right now, can you think of anyone you know who would appreciate a phone call or a visit?  If yes, then make it a routine to contact them regularly.  Right now, can you think of anyone you know who would appreciate a phone call or a visit?  If yes, then make it a routine to contact them regularly.  You’ll feel better – they will feel better – everyone wins.  No longer alone.

MG Hypnosis - Happiness

Happiness – WOW – seems strange to have to work at finding something that should come so naturally.  However, sometimes it feels like it is just becoming harder to figure out what makes us happy.  This video contains a few ideas to help you find it again and keep it, and I also give other suggestions at the end.

Like the comedian Maranda Hart advises, “I tried to be grown up but I have no interest in abiding by the adult rulebook. I want to do fun things that make me happy [...] You might call me a child. Good. For if adults had even the slightest in-the-moment joy of a child then frankly the world would be a better place.”

And this one

“Look in the mirror and say, 'There is none other like you and for that reason alone you are beautiful.”

Doesn’t that make you happy?

Brilliant Company to work with - make sure you love your work - IMPORTANT MESSAGE

Bodies Under Construction (the clinic I work from) is in the festive mood AND our amazing director, Leslie Abrahams and his wife Teryl, sent me a naughty box of Bad Brownies (and I've even been good) 😂😃 THANK YOU!!! You have made my day brighter, happier and joyful.

IMPORTANT MESSAGE - loving your work and who you work for is so important to your mental and physical wellbeing. Remember, you spend a lot of your day doing your job and if it's not right for you anymore - leave. If you hate your workplace but like your work - find a new company. If your chosen career isn't what you thought it was going to be like - start retraining (it doesn't matter how much time or money you have spent on it - ask yourself if you really want to be investing any more of your lifetime doing it). A quality life is more important in the long run.

Do not be afraid of change. Do not be afraid of mistakes. Both are wonderful if they help lead you to your happiness and a fulfilling life. You, and those who are close to you, will benefit.

Are you drinking too much? Is one glass becoming a bottle?

 #drinkingtoomuch #alcohol

Are you drinking too much?   Is one glass becoming a bottle?

Are you becoming more dependent upon alcohol to feel better, escape, or just cope with situations?  If so, I can help.

Drinking is often seen as a way to relax or have fun.  We think of celebrating an event or socializing, and our treat at the end of a long day.   However, at some point, we realize the fun of drinking has stopped but now you can’t stop – the classic, “I won’t drink tomorrow”, or “I’ll only just have one tonight”.

Alcohol’s addictive nature creates a false sense of belief in the benefits we get from it.  It doesn’t matter if you think you feel more relaxed or believe it gives you more confidence, because in reality, too much alcohol creates a worse feeling the day after…and so the cycle starts.

Don’t get me wrong, alcohol in moderation is great, and there are even some health benefits.  I am only referring to the “I know I’m drinking too much and I can’t seem to control it”.  You even forget how you managed other times without it, but that too is significant – because you did!

All patterns of behaviour are learned by repetitiveness and association.  It can start from too much socialising, just one with dinner, or boredom.  The good news is that you can learn a new way to control your drinking, and figure out a way to occupy your time in a healthy and more constructive way.

MAIN POINT – I do not want you to have to stop drinking, I want you to have the control back.

We focus on the benefits of having that control.  It is basically what you want.  To be able to drink but without the constant over indulgencies.  We focus on all the benefits you will gain from taking back the control.

Call me.  We’ll talk about it.  Together we’ll create a positive way forward for you.

MG Hypnosis Exercise and Ageing - so important

Highlighting the importance of exercise in ageing by referencing Deepak Chopra’s, Ageless Body. Timeless Mind. Good reference for the people who lack motivation to exercise, the elderly, just retired, and people with depression.

20 November 2017

Think yourself young

STAYING YOUNG in the mind does influence your physical body. I am reading Deepak Chopra's book "Ageless Body. Timeless Mind", that was released 10 years ago (got it out of the library) and the findings still hold true today. In fact, we are learning more and more about this remarkable power each of us possesses when it comes to our own well being and ageing.
There are some outside factors like exercise, food, and enjoying your work, BUT your thoughts about your exercise, food and work also add to how you grow old. So many old sayings apply, but my favourite is from Norman Cousin's in particular, - Belief creates biology, i.e. you are only as old as you think you are. So a great way to start is learning how to stay young is learning how to think "young". Read the book to learn the exercises and "secrets" on how to help yourself stay fit and well for longer and better quality of life....
Hypnotherapy is great for self-talk as it really targets the unconscious mind into believing how you want to feel.  We know from several studies how powerful the mind is in healing the body from illness - and if you think about it, many people see growing old as an illness.  It doesn't have to be that way.
I am going to order it for my mom as a Christmas present. She is young in mind and body, and this will encourage her to stay that way for the rest of her years. Christmas present that literally will be used year after year, after year.

Stop smoking before Christmas

Don't let another year go by being addicted to cigarettes. If you really have been thinking about it seriously, I can help you stop in 1 session. See my video below. You will never regret it.

With the end of the year fast approaching, we have launched a campaign called to help you...

Smoking challenge.

I am amazed at the amount of different excuses people tell me that they can't stop smoking. I am told they can't stand the craving , or they are slaves to the addiction, or they need it to relax from stress, or whatever.  They simply don't realise is that it is not the cigarette, it is simply the "credit" they have given to the cigarette as to why they don't stop.

Let's really look at this.  For example, the person who can't stand the craving.  I asked them if they mind being in places where they can't smoke, like a restaurant.  They said it doesn't bother them.  I asked if they can take a long hall flight (over 8 hours), and again, it doesn't bother them.  I ask if they can sleep during the night 5 hours or more....and yes, they can.  So, really they can in fact, stand the craving as it isn't really there.  A craving is really a desire for something.  You can choose to crave health and a longer life instead.  The actual time the craving lasts is literally less than a minute.

I know, some of you are saying there is the nicotine addiction.  I am not talking about that.  I am talking about the excuses we create as to why we say we can't stop.  The key is what you tell yourself.  If you keep saying, "I can't", then you are right.  Try saying, "it might be a little difficult, but I can do it", and you will.

The other excuse that really gets me is the excuse "it relaxes me".  In fact it is one of the things usually adding to your current stresses. The whole list of wasting money, the act of smoking and knowing it is harming my health, feeling ashamed and burdened by the addition, the awful smell, and the negative social stigma that now we associate with smokers.  Smokers never appreciate that when they light up a cigarette, they take in extra fresh air on that first puff....AND IT IS THE AIR AND DEEP BREATH THAT MAKES YOU FEEL GOOD, not the poison from the cigarette.  It is your choice. bring me your excuses and we will find your solution to stop smoking, and find new better things to say to yourself instead.

I have never had a client yet that didn't love being a non-smoker more then smoking.  This is even after they said they were sure they would miss it.  You won't - trust me.
