Our ever-changing world and how it is changing our children

by Marygrace Anderson

I took a Masterclass on Working with Children. The interesting topic was current conditions hypnotherapists are getting requests for - by parents - to help their children. Five years ago, the topics were bed wetting, fear of the dark and general anxieties like separation and sleep issues. While those are still common, we now see Children for Attention Deficit Disorder, bullying, vocal and motor tics, compulsions and ritual behaviour bordering on OCD behaviour.

So the fascinating question is; “whose problem is it?” Is it the parent overreacting or a serious problem for your child? How do you know? Every case is different but the two key questions are: is it affecting your child’s health (how long has it been going on) and is bothering them? If it’s not bothering your child, I wouldn't worry about it. If your child is miserable or worried and wants help, that is when you should take action.

Just like an adult, your child needs to want to receive help before they can make changes. Things you can do at home to help:
  • Do positive visualisation with them
  • Fill in a progress chart or a note book/journal (depending on age)
  • Say coping statements with them in the present tense. (I am calm and confident)
  • Give positive reinforcement when they make progress
  • Find distraction tasks when they think or perform the undesirable pattern
  • Have them talk the problem out loud to a puppet or family pet and see if they can explain the problem and possible solutions to solve it. Think of as many as they can and then choose the best one they like.
  • Make it a game! See how long they can go without the worry or compulsion and beat their time next time.

Weight loss and hypnotherapy

by Marygrace Anderson

It’s still one of the top 3 hottest issues for a hypnotherapist. The main reason is we cover more behind the scenes issues than just finding out what you are eating and how much you are exercising. Those are very important but it’s the long term results of a life style/life commitment that is our goal to successful weight loss. If you are going to do something, do it right. If you are going to commit to your future and your health do it right. Best advice.

Hypnosis over 30 times as effective for weight loss:
Investigated the effects of hypnosis in weight loss for 60 females, at least 20% overweight. Treatment included group hypnosis with metaphors for ego-strengthening, decision making and motivation, ideomotor exploration in individual hypnosis, and group hypnosis with maintenance suggestions. Hypnosis was more effective than a control group: an average of 17 lbs lost by the hypnosis group vs. an average of 0.5 lbs lost by the control group, on follow-up.
Cochrane, Gordon; Friesen, J. (1986). Hypnotherapy in weight loss treatment. Journal of Consulting and Clinical Psychology, 54, 489-492.

Two years later: Hypnosis subjects continued to lose significant weight:
109 people completed a behavioral treatment for weight management either with or without the addition of hypnosis. At the end of the 9-week program, both interventions resulted in significant weight reduction. At 8-month and 2-year follow-ups, the hypnosis subjects were found to have continued to lose significant weight, while those in the behavioral-treatment-only group showed little further change.
Journal of Consulting and Clinical Psychology (1985)

Hypnosis subjects lost more weight than 90% of others and kept it off:
Researchers analysed 18 studies comparing a cognitive behavioral therapy such as relaxation training, guided imagery, self monitoring, or goal setting with the same therapy supplemented by hypnosis. Those who received the hypnosis lost more weight than 90 percent of those not receiving hypnosis and maintained the weight loss two years after treatment ended.
University of Connecticut, Storrs Allison DB, Faith MS. Hypnosis as an adjunct to cognitive-behavioral psychotherapy for obesity: a meta-analytic reappraisal. J Consult Clin Psychol. 1996;64(3):513-516.

Hypnosis more than doubled average weight loss:
Study of the effect of adding hypnosis to cognitive-behavioural treatments for weight reduction, additional data were obtained from authors of two studies. Analyses indicated that the benefits of hypnosis increased substantially over time.
Kirsch, Irving (1996). Hypnotic enhancement of cognitive-behavioral weight loss treatments--Another meta-reanalysis. Journal of Consulting and Clinical Psychology, 64 (3), 517-519.

Hypnosis showed significantly lower post-treatment weights:
Two studies compared overweight smoking and non-smoking adult women in an hypnosis-based, weight-loss program. Both achieved significant weight losses and decreases in Body Mass Index. Follow-up study replicated significant weight losses and declines in Body Mass Index. The overt aversion and hypnosis program yielded significantly lower post-treatment weights and a greater average number of pounds lost. Weight loss for women: studies of smokers and nonsmokers using hypnosis and multi-component treatments with and without overt aversion.
Johnson DL, Psychology Reprints. 1997 Jun;80(3 Pt 1):931-3.

Hypnotherapy group with stress reduction achieved significantly more weight loss than the other two treatments:
Randomised, controlled, parallel study of two forms of hypnotherapy (directed at stress reduction or energy intake reduction), vs dietary advice alone in 60 obese patients with obstructive sleep apnoea on nasal continuous positive airway pressure treatment.
J Stradling, D Roberts, A Wilson and F Lovelock, Chest Unit, Churchill Hospital, Oxford, OX3 7LJ, UK

Hypnosis can more than double the effects of traditional weight loss approaches:
An analysis of five weight loss studies reported in the Journal of Consulting and Clinical Psychology in 1996 showed that the "… weight loss reported in the five studies indicates that hypnosis can more than double the effects" of traditional weight loss approaches.
University of Connecticut, Journal of Consulting and Clinical Psychology in 1996 (Vol. 64, No. 3, pgs 517-519).

Weight loss is greater where hypnosis is utilized:
Research into cognitive-behavioural weight loss treatments established that weight loss is greater where hypnosis is utilized. It was also established that the benefits of hypnosis increase over time.
Journal of Consulting and Clinical Psychology (1996)

Showed hypnosis as "an effective way to lose weight":
A study of 60 females who were at least 20% overweight and not involved in other treatment showed hypnosis is an effective way to lose weight.
Journal of Consulting and Clinical Psychology (1986)

Hypnotherapy and Smoking Cessation

by Marygrace Anderson

Some stats:

Please love stats, but I personally find them boring. However, for those of you who want them please see below and enjoy. I enjoy the facts, like smoking kills you and those around you. I enjoy knowing people who think £250.00 to stop smoking for a longer life, spend £6.00 - £7.00 on a packet of cigarettes (almost £80.00 a month). Talk about burning away your money and health. I was a smoker and quit with hypnotherapy. When you are ready, I’ll be waiting to hear from you.

Good health.

SAD: there's no need to be

by Marygrace Anderson

It's that time again. The weather is changing and the nights are getting darker, so be prepared. There is a lot of things you can do to prepare mentally. Lights, music, and action. Really SAD lights are great or making sure you have desk lamps on will boost your spirits, uplifting/happy/dance music will get you going and motivated. Finally get moving and out... exercise or go for a walk. You will feel so much better. Dark does not have to be bad or sad. Dark makes me think of being in a wonderful trance state where I can relax and give myself positive affirmations. Try it - it works.

Hypnotherapy and pain relief

by Marygrace Anderson

Sports injury, sprain, fracture, migraines, the list goes on and on but the pain is common in all of the above. It might be minor or unbearable, short term or reoccurring. Pain is pain. If you have to live with it, it can change your life in such negative ways like going out, relationships, depression, and sleeping problems. It doesn't need to be like that and hypnotherapy can help.

We all know the mind and body work together. Using hypnotherapy we can reduce the impact on your life and how you feel. There are various ways and techniques for lowering the impact on how you live with discomfort and change it from a negative response to a positive one. For your sake and those around you. Feel free to call me to discuss your situation, as it’s a very personalized condition for each individual.

Hypnosis reduces pain and speeds up recovery from surgery:

Since 1992, we have used hypnosis routinely in more than 1400 patients undergoing surgery. We found that hypnosis used with patients as an adjunct to conscious sedation and local anesthesia was associated with improved intraoperative patient comfort, and with reduced anxiety, pain, intraoperative requirements for anxiolytic and analgesic drugs, optimal surgical conditions and a faster recovery of the patient. We reported our clinical experience and our fundamental research.
[Hypnosis and its application in surgery] Faymonville ME, Defechereux T, Joris J, Adant JP, Hamoir E, Meurisse M, Service d'Anesthesie-Reanimation, Universite de Liege, Rev Med Liege. 1998 Jul;53(7):414-8.

Hypnosis reduces pain intensity:

Analysis of the simple-simple main effects, holding both group and condition constant, revealed that application of hypnotic analgesia reduced report of pain intensity significantly more than report of pain unpleasantness.
Dahlgren LA, Kurtz RM, Strube MJ, Malone MD, Differential effects of hypnotic suggestion on multiple dimensions of pain. Journal of Pain & Symptom Management. 1995; 10(6): 464-70.

Healed 41% faster from fracture

Healed significantly faster from surgery:

Two studies from Harvard Medical School show hypnosis significantly reduces the time it takes to heal.

  • Study One: Six weeks after an ankle fracture, those in the hypnosis group showed the equivalent of eight and a half weeks of healing.
  • Study Two: Three groups of people studied after breast reduction surgery. Hypnosis group healed "significantly faster" than supportive attention group and control group.

Harvard Medical School, Carol Ginandes and Union Institute in Cincinnati, Patricia Brooks, Harvard University Gazette Online.

Hypnosis reduces pain of headaches and anxiety:

The improvement was confirmed by the subjective evaluation data gathered with the use of a questionnaire and by a significant reduction in anxiety scores.
Melis PM, Rooimans W, Spierings EL, Hoogduin CA, Treatment of chronic tension-type headache with hypnotherapy: a single-blind time controlled study. Headache 1991; 31(10): 686-9.

Hypnosis lowered post-treatment pain in burn injuries:

Patients in the hypnosis group reported less post treatment pain than did patients in the control group. The findings are used to replicate earlier studies of burn pain hypnoanalgesia, explain discrepancies in the literature, and highlight the potential importance of motivation with this population.
Patterson DR, Ptacek JT, Baseline pain as a moderator of hypnotic analgesia for burn injury treatment. Journal of Consulting & Clinical Psychology 1997; 65(1): 60-7.

Hypnosis lowered phantom limb pain:

Hypnotic procedures appear to be a useful adjunct to established strategies for the treatment of phantom limb pain and would repay further, more systematic, investigation. Suggestions are provided as to the factors which should be considered for a more systematic research program.
Treatment of phantom limb pain using hypnotic imagery. Oakley DA, Whitman LG, Halligan PW, Department of Psychology, University College, London, UK.

Hypnosis has a reliable and significant impact on acute and chronic pain:

Hypnosis has been demonstrated to reduce analogue pain, and studies on the mechanisms of laboratory pain reduction have provided useful applications to clinical populations. Studies showing central nervous system activity during hypnotic procedures offer preliminary information concerning possible physiological mechanisms of hypnotic analgesia. Randomized controlled studies with clinical populations indicate that hypnosis has a reliable and significant impact on acute procedural pain and chronic pain conditions. Methodological issues of this body of research are discussed, as are methods to better integrate hypnosis into comprehensive pain treatment.
Hypnosis and clinical pain. Patterson DR, Jensen MP, Department of Rehabilitation Medicine, University of Washington School of Medicine, Seattle, WA USA 98104 Psychol Bull. 2003 Jul;129(4):495-521.

Hypnosis is a powerful tool in pain therapy and is biological in addiction to psychological:

Attempting to elucidate cerebral mechanisms behind hypnotic analgesia, we measured regional cerebral blood flow with positron emission tomography in patients with fibromyalgia, during hypnotically-induced analgesia and resting wakefulness. The patients experienced less pain during hypnosis than at rest. The cerebral blood-flow was bilaterally increased in the orbitofrontal and subcallosial cingulate cortices, the right thalamus, and the left inferior parietal cortex, and was decreased bilaterally in the cingulate cortex. The observed blood-flow pattern supports notions of a multifactorial nature of hypnotic analgesia, with an interplay between cortical and subcortical brain dynamics.

Hypnosis useful in hospital emergency rooms:

Hypnosis can be a useful adjunct in the emergency department setting. Its efficacy in various clinical applications has been replicated in controlled studies. Application to burns, pain, pediatric procedures, surgery, psychiatric presentations (e.g., coma, somatoform disorder, anxiety, and post traumatic stress), and obstetric situations (e.g., hyperemesis, labor, and delivery) are described.

The benefits of hypnobirthing classes

Marygrace Anderson is now offering hypnobirthing classes at The Putney Clinic of Physical Therapy.

The benefits of hypnobirthing include:
  • Manage any discomfort through powerful breathing techniques.
  • Reduces fear, tension and discomfort, thus naturally increasing discomfort threshold.
  • Learn relaxation techniques that will help your body to work the way it is designed to.
  • Learn how to put yourself in control of your birth, rather than blindly turning your birthing experience over to your doctor or midwife.
  • Less medication and chemical anaesthesia is needed as muscles thin and open easily.
  • Hypnosis shortens the first stage of delivery by approximately 3 – 4 hours for mother's delivering their babies. For subsequent deliveries, it is not unusual for them to be as quick as 60 - 120 minutes long.
  • Learn visualisation techniques that can help your body to do what it wants to do.
  • Allow your mind and body to work together in harmony.
  • Experience the pleasures of birth rather than the negative experiences you may have heard from others.
  • Release worries and concerns you may have about birth.
  • Enables mother to go into "hypnotic relaxation" if unable to sleep between feeds.
  • Raises resistance to fatigue during delivery thus minimizing maternal exhaustion.
  • Encourages the production of milk. Decreases "post natal blues" and speeds up recovery.
  • Use the endorphin release to increase your body's natural anaesthetic; a much safer option than relying on pharmaceuticals and other drugs.

New Year, new you

By Marygrace Anderson

New year, new you? Yeah right, but maybe, just maybe.

It didn't happen last year or the year before, but that is the point. Why didn't it? Well, I can tell you... The answer is you didn't really want it. Sorry, I meant to say you didn't REALLY want it in the way you need to commit to change. The missing link, the desire was just not there. How do I know? I've been there and failed. Now I have been there and succeeded.

My life changing moment happened seven years ago. I walked into a hypnotherapist's office seeking help to quit smoking. I am well-educated, strong-willed, very aware of the dangers of smoking and had the greatest motivation to stop, a new baby. (I had stopped throughout the pregnancy but went back to it).

I loved the experience so much I trained to become a certified hypnotherapist. I wanted to be able to change people's lives for the better and it is now what I do for a living. Now, I am presented with sceptics for sleep difficulties, confidence, phobias, weight loss, smoking and various other issues and - in a nice way - proved them wrong too. The nice thing about all of these people is they do have what I had and just needed a little help. They reached the point of desire to change. My role is to help make this desire happen with them.

Hypnotherapy is a treatment that uses hypnosis to alter the way you feel or change aspects of your life that need improving. Hypnosis is a perfectly natural condition that we experience every day of our lives, like daydreaming. We drift in and out of a hypnotic state all day long without being aware of it. Under hypnosis, we are capable of making amazing changes to our thinking patterns and unlocking unlimited potential to improve and transform our lives.

We discuss what you want to improve or change. Then we agree the goals and desired outcome you want to accomplish. Next, we'll work together with various techniques and hypnosis to achieve those results, all in a tranquil, calming and relaxing environment. So go ahead, and let me prove you wrong and give you a chance to say, "wow, a new me"!

What is hypnotherapy?

By Marygrace Anderson

Hypnotherapy is a treatment that uses hypnosis to alter the way you feel or change aspects of your life that need improving.

What is hypnosis?

Hypnosis is a perfectly natural condition, which we experience every day of our lives, like day dreaming. We drift in and out of a hypnotic state all day long without being aware of it. Under hypnosis, we are capable of making amazing changes to our thinking patterns and unlocking unlimited potential to improve and transform our lives.

All hypnosis is self-hypnosis, meaning that you are in control at all times. A hypnotherapist guides and empowers the client throughout the hypnotic process. This is a focused state of relaxation, in which the subconscious mind can achieve incredible transformations for beneficial purposes.

The incredible commitment generated between hypnotherapist and client working together creates positive and therapeutic changes which can alter a person's life permanently. We focus on the solution, not the problem.

Who can be hypnotised?

Virtually everyone can be hypnotised. If you have the desire to make a change, then you will allow yourself to be guided into the wonderful and relaxing trance state. You cannot be hypnotised against your will. Children of all ages are welcome.

Is hypnosis safe?

Hypnotherapy is 100% safe. There are no side-effects and you are always in control.

What happens during the session?

We discuss what you want to improve or change. Then we agree the goals and desired outcome you want to accomplish. Next, we work together with various techniques and hypnosis to achieve those results, all in a tranquil, calming and relaxing environment.

How many sessions will I need and what are the fees?

It depends on what you need assistance with changing. Giving up smoking or eliminating a phobia are usually resolved in one session, while the majority of cases are treated in four sessions or less. The aim is to help you in the minimum number of sessions possible, so your motivation and desire to change will play a key role. You should achieve the results quickly and pleasantly. We will review your progress together after each session.

Fees are £145.00 for the first session (lasting 75 minutes) and reviewed thereafter if more sessions are required. Counselling and life coaching fees are based in the number of sessions agreed. Smoking cessation is £200.00, with 20% donated of this total donated to charity.

How can hypnotherapy help you?

Hypnotherapy can be effective in a number of ways. It can help you to increase confidence and self-esteem; improve motivation; manage your weight; quit smoking; manage stress and eliminate anxiety; eliminate phobias and panic attacks; stop unwanted habits and alleviate sleeping disorders.

Got something weighing on your mind?

By Marygrace Anderson

For many people, losing weight is easier said than done, especially at this festive time of year!

Did you know that 95% of dieters regain the weight they have lost? Worse than that, in the UK obesity has almost moved into the number one cause of premature death. It is a fact that 25% of women and 20% of men in the UK are now classified as obese. The symptoms range from low energy levels and breathlessness to serious conditions such as high blood sugar, high cholesterol, thyroid and hormone problems, and extra strain on the heart.

So what is the solution? A permanent lifestyle change with the help of hypnotherapy. How you think affects everything you do and you can learn new ways to use your mind that will let you change easily and comfortably. Together, we will discover the reasons behind your eating habits and use several techniques to help change that thinking once and for all. I can help you find the motivation you need to lose weight, exercise and feel good about yourself and your body again. Inside and out!

Hypnotherapy is a treatment that uses hypnosis to alter the way you feel or change aspects of your life that need improving. What are you afraid of?

by Marygrace Anderson

We all have, to some degree, a fear of something. Phobias can range from the very common:

  • Altophobia- fear of height
  • Aviophobia – fear of flying
  • Arachnophobia - fear of spiders

To the uncommon:

  • Alliumphobia - fear of garlic
  • Allodoxaphobia - fear of opinions
  • Amathophobia - fear of dust

And those are just a few of the "A’s"! There are literally thousands of recognized phobias and some are even culture specific or considered just superstitions.

The point is, it doesn’t matter where it came from, how silly or ridiculous it seems, if it is true to you, it is very serious. I have had a client so afraid of cats, that she ran into traffic to avoid it, literally putting her life in danger.

The great thing about phobias, for the majority of people, is that are very easy to treat. With a few simple techniques, you can learn how to get a hold of the fear, change it and get back on track with your life…minus the fear.

How is the recession affecting our children?

by Marygrace Anderson DCH, DHP, AICH, NCH, GHR Reg

My phone is ringing off the hook, but lately, something has changed. My clients no longer just refer friends to me; they refer their friend’s kids! As parents we protect our children as much as possible, but sometimes, we unintentionally, transfer our fears to our kids.

I am sure you or a partner has discussed the economy and the worry of “being made redundant” or “hating your job” or “wanting to find a new job”, forgetting that your words are being overheard by your children. Our kids then use their creative little minds and begin to share in your worry. This unknown worry can create stress, sleepless nights and lack of concentration on schoolwork, low self-confidence and mild depression. They see you upset and the common response is to share that feeling. They don’t have to see something, to still fear it.

So what can you do?
  • Talk to them directly and reassure them that all is fine.
  • Let them know the positive side the change could bring.
  • Reassure them that you are ok and they don’t have to worry about you.
  • Ask them if there is anything you can do to help them if they are not sleeping, feeling stressed, or feeling less confident.
  • Get a friend or person at school to talk to your child. Sometimes it is easier to tell things to another adult they feel comfortable talking to when they don’t want to share will mum or dad.
  • The points are for adults as much as kids. If you are going through a hard time or might be facing a change of circumstances, embrace it and find the positive side. Life is too short to spend it in constant stress or fear of the unknown. Take action and you will feel more in control.
Whatever is your situation, Marygrace Anderson, can help you constructively and positively manage it and change it from a negative back to a positive! There is no magic “right time to make a change”. The important thing is to know what you want to do and how to take steps to get there.

Right now, think back to all the “hard times” you have had in your life and how funny it is, looking back, you don’t think it was that bad now. Letting fear or other people’s negative beliefs stop you is what is what I would consider truly scary. We truly can do whatever we want, make any change, or make a new start, just by taking one step in that direction! Do it now!

Never stop learning

I really think it's so wonderful to be able to learn new skills, languages, and be able to re-train in a whole new career you never thought possible. My background was always in facilities and office management. I went to see a hypnotherapist and had that “WOW” experience and decided there and then I was going to become a hypnotherapist as well.

If you have a WOW experience with something you love doing, then go after it. Life is too short not be following your passions and the things that make you feel wonderful for being able to do them.

Hobbies and interests can become your career – you just need to investigate how to make it possible.

Halloween

by Marygrace Anderson

Halloween is a great time for me. One, I love it – seriously I am a pumpkin every year. It makes me happy and people who see me. Second, I get a lot of people who what to get over phobias. Don’t get me wrong. I get a phobia sufferers all year round, but around Halloween, there is an increase in fear of spider, kids with fear of the dark and separation from parents issues. Also claustrophobics and fear of flying is also common now (people getting ready for Christmas flights I suspect). Anyway, the majority over come their fears in 1 session. So do yourself a favor and get rid of the stupid phobia now. So you can enjoy Halloween next year with out it.

How long will the grieving last?

Sounds a little silly but my cat of 17 years is slowly fading away. It will be like losing a member of the family. I will shed big tears but I also know he’s had a good life and take comfort in that thought. The reason I share this with you is that a lot of people who come see me after they have lost a loved one, and do not know that the normal average grieving time is a year. This is because we go through the holidays and birthdays and other big events thinking about them. I just wanted to remind those who have lost a love one, time will help you and it’s okay to still cry weeks, months, and years as you remember them in your thoughts.

Peace be with you.

Is it just me?

by Marygrace Anderson

"Is It Just Me?" is a question asked by almost every client in the beginning of a hypnotherapy session. The issue may be related to weight, phobias, confidence or panic attacks but it doesn’t matter. What does matter is that everyone thinks they are alone in their suffering. They feel embarrassed and it’s only made worse when they don’t get the right support.

The answer is simply no. You may not be around people who suffer from your condition, but on a global scale, there are a lot of individuals experiencing the same problem. This is why we have so many associations for specific conditions.

One of the aims we try to achieve in a hypnotherapy session, is reassuring a client that they are not alone and, more importantly, there is a solution to solving their problem. The reassurance allows them to finally have hope again and determination to beat and win over their presenting issue. There are several techniques you can learn, which will help empower you to take back control of your situation and then it is reinforced with hypnosis.

A woman came into the office who was suffering low self esteem from being made redundant. She felt alone. It had a knock on effect to her health, as she stopped exercising and was felling depressed and unfocused on finding a new career. So we did some easy positive affirmations (to increase her confidence) and used visualisation to help see where she wanted to go. We did a life wheel to break down the areas she wanted to focus on and then broke them down into smaller goals. She used these steps to get her focused on approaching her job hunt and getting back into her exercise routine. Once she began to see how she could move forward, the depression and low self esteem vanished.

Hope this helps you to realise you are not alone.

It's raining again

I, like everyone, get so sick of the rain as it is usually accompanied by dark clouds. If you get that grey feeling, the best thing to do is turn up the music to an upbeat station and/or turn on some lights to lift the darkness. Another good idea is just simply get up and stretch and do some deep breathinng for 1 minute. It will be the boost you need to make a rainy day a little brighter.

Good health.

Prepare for your own Olympics with hypnotherapy

by Marygrace Anderson

What a perfect time to start your own personal Olympics, whether it be for a marathon, improve your golf game, increase your personal goals, or start a new sport. Hypnotherapy is perfect for helping athletes of all levels, increase your motivation and focus. With the upcoming Olympics coming to London it should inspire your own new challenges to overcome and goals to achieve. This can be in sport or your daily exercise routine.

Summer is the perfect time to get fit. There are so many inspirational places, people, accessories and activities to get you moving and motivated. There are so many good centres to join now, plus you can find virtually every sports group on the web offering free trials or group events. For example, you can join a runners group which meet at a specific time and place daily, weekly or monthly and all you have to do is show up with the right equipment necessary. You can spend as little or as much as you want on equipment but the key is to set some goals and get started.

I had a 44 year old woman who wanted to loose weight and get fit but didn’t have a focus. She couldn’t tell me why besides, “she wanted to look better in her clothes”. You have to be specific in what you want to achieve and then make it clear in your mind and body. Once you have a clear focus you can find more motivational steps to get there and plan out a reasonable, achievable and fun way to get to the finish line. There are lots of fun and creative ways to make weight loss fun and using hypnotherapy to reinforce your commitment. Simply put, “if you are going to do something, do it right or not at all”.

Another 35 year old male wanted help on his boxing skills. He was great to work with because he knew what he wanted from the session. He didn’t care if he won or not, but his focus was moving faster, lighter and throwing harder punches while maintaining his stamina. We did this through visualising, finding his power place, and reinforcing his belief he was capable of going all the rounds plus more. And he did win the fight he was training for, which made it even sweeter.

So take action now, and go for the gold!
