MG Hypnosis - Help to Stop Worrying

Me to you

Don’t worry – be happy.

Easier said than done when you are worried, but wise words nevertheless and makes a good point.  You can choose to worry or NOT to worry and use it to motivate you.  We sometimes forget that we have a choice on to react to worries. I am here to remind you that you CAN choose to become stronger, calmer, and motivated to do something about the problem.

This video is about getting that focus.  Worrying is horrible for your mental and physical wellbeing.  So, stand up tall, take a deep breath, and let’s figure out a solution instead of letting it drain our energy and creativity.  You’ve got this.

MG Hypnosis - Happiness

Happiness – WOW – seems strange to have to work at finding something that should come so naturally.  However, sometimes it feels like it is just becoming harder to figure out what makes us happy.  This video contains a few ideas to help you find it again and keep it, and I also give other suggestions at the end.

Like the comedian Maranda Hart advises, “I tried to be grown up but I have no interest in abiding by the adult rulebook. I want to do fun things that make me happy [...] You might call me a child. Good. For if adults had even the slightest in-the-moment joy of a child then frankly the world would be a better place.”

And this one

“Look in the mirror and say, 'There is none other like you and for that reason alone you are beautiful.”

Doesn’t that make you happy?

Brilliant Company to work with - make sure you love your work - IMPORTANT MESSAGE

Bodies Under Construction (the clinic I work from) is in the festive mood AND our amazing director, Leslie Abrahams and his wife Teryl, sent me a naughty box of Bad Brownies (and I've even been good) 😂😃 THANK YOU!!! You have made my day brighter, happier and joyful.

IMPORTANT MESSAGE - loving your work and who you work for is so important to your mental and physical wellbeing. Remember, you spend a lot of your day doing your job and if it's not right for you anymore - leave. If you hate your workplace but like your work - find a new company. If your chosen career isn't what you thought it was going to be like - start retraining (it doesn't matter how much time or money you have spent on it - ask yourself if you really want to be investing any more of your lifetime doing it). A quality life is more important in the long run.

Do not be afraid of change. Do not be afraid of mistakes. Both are wonderful if they help lead you to your happiness and a fulfilling life. You, and those who are close to you, will benefit.

If you are having a down day - play this loud and start moving. Dance people - dance! (But sorry you have to watch the 5 second video before it starts - don't know how to avoid that - worth the wait) LOL

The Science of Laughter

I read The Science of Laughter from Time Magazine’s September issue.  It was really interesting to learn that the main reason we laugh is social communication.

It is also an unconscious behavior (not under our control at all), which is why we have all had “inappropriate” times of cracking up.  Mine usually happens in church.

The really amazing thing about laughing is that it is, like drinking water, good for us.  Not only mentally making us feel good, but also physically we benefit.  That is why there are more and more studies being done in universities and hospitals about using laughter for better health.   It helps in boosting our immune function, pain tolerance, cardiovascular health and memory.  We know it reduces stress and help with depression.

So I suggest you spend 1-2 hours over the weekend to watch your favorite comedy! Happy Friday!

5 tips to bring more Positive Energy into your life

ATTRACTING POSITIVE ENERGY

THIS SHOULDN’T BE HARD, BUT YET, IT SEEMS SOME PEOPLE STRUGGLE WITH BEING POSITIVE.

SO TRY THESE 5 TIPS OUT THIS WEEK AND SEE IF IT MAKES A DIFFERENCE TO YOUR POSITIVE ENERGY.

1.        WHEN YOU WAKE UP, BEFORE YOU GET UP, SAY TO YOURSELF 10 TIMES, “I AM GOING TO HAVE AN AMAZING DAY” AND SMILE AS YOU SAY IT. COUNT OUT WITH YOUR FINGERS.
2.        ONCE EVERY HOUR DURING YOUR WORKING HOURS, STOP AND BREATH 6 TIMES – IF YOU CAN DO THIS OUTSIDE – EVEN BETTER.  AND SAY, I FEEL GREAT!
3.        ON YOUR COMMUTE TO AND FROM WORK, SAY 10 THINGS YOU GRATEFUL FOR:
-         THANK YOU FOR MY JOB (IF YOU DON’T LIKE YOUR JOB, FOR THE SALARY),
-         FOR MY HEALTH – IF YOU HAVE A COLD, AT LEAST YOU DON’T HAVE CANCER – I AM TRYING TO GET YOU TO KEEP IT IN PERSPECTIVE.
-         FOR FAMILY, FRIENDS, FOOD, WATER, A HOME, BEING ABLE TO READ, MUSIC, EXERCISE, SPOUSE/PARTNER, CHILDREN, ANIMALS, BREATHING, MEDITATION, LEARNING - anything no matter what or how small   SOMETIMES I REPEAT MY LISTS - BUT THAT CAN BE RELATED TO SOMETHING ELSE THAT HAPPENED OR I AM JUST SUPER GRATEFUL FOR THE PERSON, PLACE OR THING I AM MENTIONING.
4.        ASK FOR POSITIVE ENERGY.  DEPENDING ON YOUR BELIEVES, ASK GOD, OR THE UNIVERSE, OR THE INTERNET TO SEND YOU GOOD VIBES.  REALLY ASK FOR IT.
5.        KEEP LOOKING FOR POSITIVE THINGS IN EVERYTHING! NEVER GIVE UP LOOKING FOR HAPPINESS.  TOUGH TIMES DON’T LAST.  SO KEEP LOOKING AND EXPLORING AND LEARNING ABOUT THINGS THAT MAKE YOU HAPPY.  THINGS THAT BRING GOODNESS AND POSITIVE ENERGY INTO YOUR LIFE.  IT MIGHT TAKE A SOME EXPLORING, BUT YOU WILL FIND IT AS LONG AS YOU WANT IT.

LASTLY, IF YOU KNOW SOMETHING IS DRAINING YOU OF YOUR POSITIVE ENERGY OR HAPPINESS, FIGURE OUT HOW TO SOLVE IT AND STOP IT, THERE WILL BE A SOLUTION BUT YOU NEED TO ADDRESS IT AND FIX IT.

DO A LIFE WHEEL! See mine below

New LIFE WHEEL Goals for next 4 months

Normally I advise my clients to choose 4 areas of their life that they want to focus on for the next 4 – 6 months.  Then they need to write down the goals and the steps they need to take to achieve them.

So last time I did my life wheel (back in April) – I so badly wanted to get back in shape and take care of my health that I made that my sole goal.  So my steps were a whole body life wheel focus for the next 4 months.   My steps were:
-       Exercise daily – yoga or walking (looking into other possible classes)
-       Start running again – devise a plan to build back up distance
-       Floss my teeth daily (had just lost a filling prior to setting goals)
-       No alcohol until I reached my ideal weight.
-       Back to portion control and eating health meals (no takeaways, ready meals, etc).   I made my meals separately if family members wanted something else but tried to work some of their meals into mine.  They started to put more of my salads into their meals as well – Bonus!
-       Cut out (down) sugar (really hard as it is in everything) – this was actually motivated by reading someone else’s blog about the affects it had on his health.
-       Drink herbal teas (no coffee – as prone to wanting sugar or Starbucks).

I loved my plan and I have enjoyed making it happen (see prior weekly detox blogs/FB entry for more details) .  So, now onto the next challenge.

As I started with a total focus on health for the last life wheel goal, this time I am going the extreme with setting 6 – yes 6 areas I want to work on but 2 are very short term achievable.  Four areas will take 4 – 6 months to complete and 2 just need a power hour to get in place, but they are still important to me to get done.

I will first list my goals and over the next few days break them down into steps.

1.     Kitchen Extension
2.     Career challenges
3.     Personal Development (Piano I think)
4.     Weekend family activity (exercise or language – still thinking)
5.     Relationship with partner – plan longer term life goals together.
6.     Spiritual space – more clutter clear out.

Look forward to sharing more with you.  If you want to do a life wheel message me or add to a comment to FB and I will email it over to you.

Changing careers

Knowledge is power!  I will never forget my dad first telling me that when I called him from my job in Washington.  I kept getting asked to do things that were not part of my role.  My dad so simply informed me that the more I learn, the more valuable I become to myself, and the company.  So, from that day forward I thrived at learning new skills.

However, you also need to keep a balance in life so if you have too much work or you are working too many hours, get the balance back.  You need to be able to stand up for yourself and work something out with your manager.  When you are overworked or too tired, you can’t do your job properly or happily.  Happiness is a key to loving your work.

One of the key things I want to know when someone comes to see me is do they like their jobs.  I would say that more than half want to do something else.  An excellent resource for exploring what you might want to do is a book called “Working 5 to 9” by Emma Jones.  This book is loaded with cleaver resources to help you turn your real interests or even hobbies into careers.  So begin exploring your talents and potential today and love learning.
